2011: The Year of Getting Stuff Done

So yeah, new year, new post.

This year, 2011, is all about getting stuff done. To that end, I have The List (TM). The List contains everything that I want to get done during 2011. It includes things to do with Warhammer 40,000, World of Warcraft, Gaming in general, and things I want to do in my life.

So, whats on this list, I hear you ask, across the ether and the net? Good question. Sample after the break. Continue reading 2011: The Year of Getting Stuff Done

Warcraft

So I finally managed to hit 80. It’s only taken since the release of Burning Crusade too. 😀

But yeah, now the real game begins as I gear up in purples and grind rep. I now find that I’m shorter of cash than ever though. So I reckon I can go farm Borean Leather in Sholazar to my hearts content now. pity it takes 6 of them to make 1 Heavy, and most recipes need at least 10 to make, not counting the additional costs…

Warhammer 40,000 5th Edition Rules

So tonight was the first game played with the new Space Marine Codex in v5 rules.
I played against Jimmy in an objective game, pitched battle deployment.

And we had a blast! Jimmy brought Tau against my blue boys. We drew, but Jimmy took the moral victory on kill points.

Moment of the match was me rolling shaken result against a bunker. After Jimmy rolled a cover save for it.

Overall, 5th editon games are faster, much more fin to play and against the right opponent, riotous fun!

On Mental Health

If anyone that reads this has, or knows someone with any mental health issues, please be understanding about their condition and offer them all the support that you can. I can assure you that they will appreciate it.
Have fun, normal programming will resume shortly.

iPod Touch

First off, allow me to explain that this post is being written from my new iPod touch. It really proves Gary Newman’s point that the device, while a victim of a goldrush with people charging €2.99 for a flashlight app, is more than capable of being a highly productive environment.
I will possibly end up getting an iPhone in time, but as I currently have access to the wifi networks in most places I go, I think I’ll be using this little device a while longer.

On Working…

Well, I have started my new job in tier 1 tech support for [NDA] Inc.

Of course, I can’t talk about it. The first rule of Fight Club and all that. But 3 weeks of training out of 4 down, and I’m feeling OK about getting through this job. While it doesn’t pay nearly as much as Eat More Chicken did, at least I have my nights and half a weekend again. And I was able to get me a shiny mac mini out of the wages, so I could set the bugger up as a media machine, which I’ve wanted to do for a while, but that’s for another entry.

The only thing that bothers me? Training is taking place in a big metal box, in one of the most humid and warm months Ireland has had in a while. I’m sweating my balls off daily and it can be more than a little uncomfortable.

Thankfully, the main job won’t be that warm and has aircon. So, warm in winter, cold in summer. (Note for non-irish readers, While I may say “Summer” and “Winter”, please don’t take that to mean we have a standard climate. We have two seasons, the Wet Season, and the Wetter One. It’s just we’re more used to more subtle variations.)

Basically the point of this post is to say, I’m back from holidays, back from real life stealing time and feeling slightly more productive than last time.

Have fun and I’ll see you on the flipside.
